Behind every FRIGO is a great story.

FRIGO was born in 2000 when a Swedish inventor decided that men’s underwear was, in general, pretty terrible. While it should be keeping guys cool and dry, in fact it seemed to do just the opposite. Traditional briefs and boxers did a terrible job at controlling sweat, providing support, allowing freedom of motion and – most important – keeping things comfortable.

So this Swedish inventor set out to revolutionize an industry. Rather than concentrating on tweaking fabrics, as many other manufacturers were doing, he focused on the ergonomics of the underwear itself.

He believed that the key to comfort was in creating a zone of ventilation within the underwear. To do this, he designed a netted pouch and adjustment system that would provide lift, support and separation between a guy’s jewels and the rest of his body. This totally new structure would result in less perspiration and keep things totally “FRIGO” (the Latin word for “dry and cool”) at all times.

After the first prototypes were created and the initial design finalized, it was time to take FRIGO out of the lab and into the world. In 2007, under the guidance of former executives from Tempur (the global mattress company), Gunnar Holm and Mathias Ingvarsson, FRIGO underwear was introduced to the world.

Today, we continue to evolve the original FRIGO Zone™ design (U.S. Patent # 7178174) with new features, fabrics and technologies. For example, our flagship FRIGO No. 1 Exclusive was engineered with the assistance of Progressive Labs at the world-renowned Sports Technology Institute at Loughborough University in the UK.

As we look to the future, FRIGO will continue to revolutionize the way guys wear underwear to ensure they enjoy even more comfort, coolness and control. (You’re welcome.)

Carmelo Anthony
carmeloBrand Ambassador: Carmelo AnthonySince arriving in the NBA, Carmelo Anthony has not only been one of the top scorers in the league, he has also diversified himself as a player, a family man, a businessman and a philanthropist. Most importantly, Melo has excelled off the court through his philanthropic efforts. He established The Carmelo Anthony Foundation (CAF) in 2005
as the vehicle by which he and his family give back to the community through a variety of outreach programs and donations. In 2006, The Giving Back Fund, the premier philanthropic resource for the sports and entertainment communities, ranked Carmelo in their top ten of the “Giving Back 30” report surrounding celebrity philanthropists in America. On the court, the Olympics proved to be the perfect display of his passion, maturity and excellence for the sport – and being the only player in NBA history to win three Gold Medals in 2008, 2012 and 2016 – has been the ultimate token of redemption, success and global recognition for the NBA All-Star and three-time Olympian.

Anthony currently resides in New York City, with his wife LaLa Vazquez Anthony, and their son, Kiyan. Not having the opportunity to know his father, Melo wants his son to grow up knowing how much he is loved. Whether it’s the three of them going to the park, or father and son going to the barbershop, investing in his family’s future is of the utmost importance.

From the studio to the stage and everywhere in between, my Frigos are on.

timbalandBrand Ambassador: TimbalandBorn Timothy Z. Mosley in Norfolk, Virginia on March 10, 1972, Timbaland, so named by Jodeci member Devante Swing after the Timberland boot, has had many reincarnations–from disc jockey DJ Tiny Tim to half of the hip hop group Timbaland & Magoo; from membership in Devante Swing’s Swing Mob crew known as Da Bassment to S.B.I. (Surrounded By Idiots), a production ensemble including Pharrell Williams, to being CEO of his own label, Mosley Music Group.

Super-producer Timbaland has stamped his indelible imprint on the music scene since the mid-1990s. His production has helped create career-defining hits for artists such as Jodeci, Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Missy Elliott, Destiny’s Child, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z, among many others. Respected beyond the genres of urban and hip hop music, Timbaland, whose musical influences cross cultural lines, has also been sought by diverse superstars whose music similarly knows no boundaries, from pop star Justin Timberlake to avantsinger Bjork. Released April 3, 2007 is his second solo album, Timbaland Presents Shock Value (Blackground/Interscope/Mosley Music Group). That disc follows his producing of the majority of the tracks, including the #1 “SexyBack,” on Timberlake’s #1 charting, multiplatinumFutureSex/LoveSounds, which followed their work together on Timberlake’s previous smash, Justified.

Timbaland’s trademark sound has spawned numerous imitators—yet he has always remained the acknowledged originator. Not surprisingly given his talents, he started a new label in partnership with Interscope even as he delivered another three albums for Elliott, including 2005’s The Cookbook.
